At HHD&C we have experience of acting as an expert witness on the historic environment, providing written evidence, making representations at public hearings, forming part of client teams, and facing cross-examination at public inquiries. We understand the general process and the range of submissions that might be required as part of the core documents to support our case, and have worked closely with legal teams to refine the arguments being presented.

The types of expert witness work we have covered include an appeal against refusal for listed building enabling works, local plan inquiry and allocation of land for residential housing, renewable energy schemes and the impact of tall structures on the setting of heritage assets. We have contributed to case work in all parts of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
